Prints
by Jan GOSSART

Gossart's print oeuvre was small in contrast to those of some contemporaries, among them Lucas van Leyden and Dirk Vellert. He created four or five prints himself and made the designs for possibly five others. The medium briefly held his attention at a particular moment in the Netherlands when a small number of artists were likewise experimenting with making prints and seeking out the possibilities for disseminating their own inventions to a broader audience, especially through the medium of etching.
