In my e-mail of today, 6/23/2000, I ask my colleagues about the rumor of Queen Henrietta Maria's clandestine 'marriage' to Henry Jermyn (Germyn), first Earl of St Albans. This was evidently an open secret at the Stuart court. What do you say to this? Contemporary sources corroborate this rumor. Lovely site on this valiant woman, an heroic model for us all!

This is a very neat and impressive website. I first wanted to view it for some research that I'm doing on the Limbourg brothers, actually I have written a paper about them a few years ago. I'm was a Art History student. I graduate last year. The idea of postcards was a terrific idea. I'm using my paper on the Tres Riches Heures de Duc de Berry as a writing sample for entry into graduate school at a University. If you have anymore research sites on the subject let me know. I just read that a list of Rembrandts and Rubens was compiled in France. The list includes 171 pieces of art. Forty-nine have been accounted-leaving 122 pieces lost. How would one go about checking on the lost ones? One never knows if one might stumble upon one at an estate sale or even a yard sale (albeit highly unlikely). If any one could e-mail me with any info whatso ever I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Kaye

I really enjoyed your site. I would suggest that you give citations for the information on the quick index and artists pages and give more information on the works and biographies of the artists. I found the guided tours especially helpful as an overview of the subject matter. I would definitely recommend this site. I am also looking forward to seeing what you will add in the future. This is definitely the most exceptional and beautiful of all sites with classic art. Thank you ever so much for all your hard work. My friends will now receive postcards with awesome paintings depicting the saints in praise, instead of those dippy electronic cards offered elsewhere. Also, I'm a homeschooling Mom...and I've already earmarked an assignment for my 16 year old. Compare Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaeus of 1601 with the same work done in 1606. Many many heartfelt thanks. Blessings, C. Snyder

I just discovered your site and its incredible contents, and I want to compliment everyone involved in creating it. The site layout is very straightforward and allows the user to focus on the art, and not get frustrated by useless banners, blather and javajunk, as I call it. As to the collection itself, I can't imagine the endless hours it must have taken to gather, organize, and display it. A first-class effort with first-class results. Thank you!!!

My whole family was impressed with the size and quality of the gallery as well as the ease to find the authors as well as specific paintings. As a student, my 11 year old daughter found easily the material she needed to prepare an asignment which helped her visualize the project. Dear sirs: My congratulations for this virtual pleasure. Your site is really unique. In on trip to South America recently I saw an interesting painting, part of a private collection. It looks like a duplicate of Virgin and Child N°2 from the Pitti Galery, Viena. Could it be the missing N°1 since the years 1870? Your help will be highly appreciated if you could supply the coordinates of Mr Diego Angulo Yniguez. I have reasons to believe that he can help solve a great art mistery. Brgds, Samuel Villarreal

Atte Diacono Antonio Araya. Arquidiosesis de San Juan Puerto Rico

The information provided and the many offerings by Fra Angelico are excellent. I learned of this site because the Fra Angelico fresco from cell #8 "The Resurrection of Christ and Women at the Tomb" appeared on the cover of our church bulletin for Easter Sunday. I know I will be spending many hours on your website, delving into all the Italian painters from the renaissance (& earlier). Thank you so very much.

I enjoyed the visit to yor site. My wife and I attend the St Francis of Assisi Church here in Welwyn Garden City so it was good to be able to visit assisi without leaving the house. Perhaps next time we are in Italy we will make a point of visiting in person. Thank you for the excellent information on your site and the trouble you have taken to develope it.

This is a great site and I've barely touched the surface. I know I will be visiting here often from now on. Thank you for the opportunity to take all this in. - mmyummy

Un Excelente trabajo, Agradezco la oportunidad de conocer tan grandes obras maestras, ya que de otra forma me sería muy difícil acceder a ellas. Felicidades a los creadores de la página.
